Couples Thrive!- A ten month couples group

Have you put a lot of work into your marriage but are still not seeing the kind of relationship you desire?  Most couple’s programs focus on communication skills, conflict management, and working on your “baggage.”  This group is different!  Using the book, 30 Days of Joy for Busy Married Couples by Chris and Jen Coursey, Misa will help you learn the relational brain skills to build a joy bond that will create a foundation for all the other skills to be built upon.  Without a joy bond, the capacity to work through hard things is much lower.  When joy levels are low and your attachment is poor, all the communication and conflict management tools in the world are not going to help in the long term.

As Chris Coursey says, “Over time your marriage starts to feel like the blues song B.B. King made famous, ‘The Thrill Is Gone’.  Yes, something is missing.  We would say it’s time for joy.  Your marriage is worth a joy makeover… joy is the gift God wants to share with you.  Joy also happens to be an excellent solution to marital deprivations, distress and distraction.  Relational joy is what your were designed for.”

Some of the topics covered in the group will be:

  •  Living from the relational part of your brain
  • Creating a lifestyle of appreciation
  • Recognizing overwhelm in yourself and your spouse
  • Learning to quiet your thoughts and emotions
  • Staying connected to Jesus
  • Addressing relational pain
  • Assessing maturity levels
  • The role of play in a joyful relationship
  • Interventions for irritations…. and more!

A Message from Misa:

Learning these relational brain skills has transformed our marriage!  Lou and I went into our relationship with NONE of these skills and we didn’t know where to begin to build the kind of relationship we wanted to have.  We attended every couples workshop and weekend we could find, read lots of books, and joined groups.  Nothing created lasting change.  When I learned about the Thrive relational brain skills, I knew I had found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!  This group is DIFFERENT from anything you have done before, and the fruit of it can sustain permanent transformation as you practice the exercises I teach.  It not only will change your marriage, but will also create a new way of life for you in ALL of your relationships, changing your parenting, work and church relationships, and even the way you relate to God.

If you are ready to turn off the television, put your phone down, and give joy a time slot in your daily routine, then come and join us for a transformative journey into life-giving relationships with a group of people committed to learning, practicing, and growing into joyful maturity.
